Riding Home
The colourful young riders of a polo club provided me with good interesting subjects for this image. The dry tree on the right framed the image nicely and created a good sense of depth. The saturated blue of the sky (achieved by colour derivation with diazochrome film — this was done pre-Photoshop days!) further enhanced the visual impact of the slide. This was a fast changing scene that needed quick reflexes to capture the image right on the dot. The slide won a Bronze Medal at the 22nd Los Angeles International Salon, USA, held in 1978.
Mr. Tan:
Do you always have your camera ready in your hand?
Wonderful picture. Wonderful moment.
My camera takes a few second to start.
I will have to work hard to buy a better camera.
Sincerely,
Jingsong Zhou
Hi! Joe,
Ideally, you should have your camera ready all the time. This is one of image that I captured during my Sunday outing 31 years ago!
Best regards,
