The colour and lines are quite obvious in this image which is further enhanced visually by the touch of human interest. I wish Photoshop was available in those days to lessen the time-consuming darkroom and retouching work put into it. This slide was awarded Honourable Mention of the 22nd Santa Clara International Salon, USA, held in 1977.
This image of board surfing was captured along the coast while I was in Fremantle, Western Australia, in 1990. Good vantage point, back-lit lighting conditons, gorgeous colours are the important elements of this picture. The decisive-moment nature of the shot was a challenge to capture, providing visual impact to the final shot.
This was a view captured from Penanjakan lookout point, East Java, in 1992. The volcano that is in middle of the image puffing out a plume of smoke is the famous Mount Bromo. To date, two out of the three volcanos shown in this image are still active. A recent eruption of Mount Bromo in May 2004 killed one little boy (a tourist from Singapore), and injured many others that were visiting the area. At present, the area is temporary closed to tourists until further notice.
This slide won the Best Landscape Award (Photo Travel Section) of the 1993 Golden West International Salon, USA.
