Coating Gold

The Lotus Hill is located in the eastern outskirt of Panyu City, Guangzhou, China. It is one of the famous hills of the Pearl River Delta. The gold Statute of the Goddess of Mercy in Lotus Hill (Lianhuashan), Which is the biggest in the world. The present statue was cast in 1994 with 120 tonnes of bronze and 180 taels of gold coating measures 40.8m. As seen here, the workers are coating gold at the base of statue. For buddhist, coating gold for the Goddess of Mercy will be blessed by the Goddess. This is another image that I captured during my recent visit in Panyu City, Guangzhou, China.
