Ripples Added Among The Art Of Ink

On 17 Aug 2021, at the Upper Peirce Reservoir, I experienced another morning with cloudy weather with soft lighting. My perception of the reflection of trees on the water, trigged me with the concept of capturing an image in monochrome. Setting the shutter speed in a slower mode allowed me to create a strong effect similar to the art of ink. The ripples occurred at the same moment further added interest to the image. To me, it is a monochromatic landscape image with an artistic touch.

On The Way To Maintain

I have been observing the different height of tress at this location of Upper Peirce Reservoir.
Simply, I love the composition of the tress from my vantage angle. To date, expecting a colourful sky as a backdrop of the image has never happened. The soft lighting from the overcast sky on 17 Aug 2021, has not deterred me to capture this image in monochrome mode. Most important, the maintaining vehicle came into the right position to add interest to the image. Besides capturing the moment within a split of a second, I love the richness of the tonal range of the final monochromatic image.

Impact Of Vibrant Colours

On 13 Oct 2016, I was searching a scenic location known as “Xi Tang” in Shantou, China. When I arrived at the location, I realized that the location was deserted sometimes ago. Instead, I came across a small lotus pond. I was attracted by a green lotus leaf floating among the shadow reflection of other leaves. The reflection of the blue sky further drew my attention. My individual perception of shapes and colours orientated me to capture this final image.
