Back to Worsley, Bridgewater Canal, Manchester again in 2014. I fancy this place is due to its serenity of the scene and the heritage value. I think Bridgewater Canal is picturesque partly due to the cruise boats are colourful.
The canal was opened in 1761 from Worsley to Manchester, and later extended from Manchester to Runcorn, and then from Worsley to Leigh.Often considered to be the first “true” canal in England,it is one of the few canals in Britain not to have been nationalised, and remains privately owned. Pleasure craft now use the canal which forms part of the Cheshire Ring network of canals.
Recently, it is interesting to read about more people in London opt to stay on boat due to the high cost of owning a property there. As reported, the maintenance of a boat can be very costly too.
