Misty Morning

I stayed in a caravan on my trip to a farm owned by a friend in Western Australia in 1986. The very next morning after my arrival, I was surprised to be greeted with this gloomy landscape from the caravan window. The serene mood was really cool and refreshing. Without a second thought, I dashed out from the vehicle with my camera in hand. As the cliche goes: The early bird catches the worm. To capture such landscape pictures would require the photographer to be an early bird too!

Twilight at Tanahlot

I encountered nearly the same kind of lighting as “Approaching Storm” during one of my visits in Bali. When I arrived at Tanahlot, I was just in time to capture such a lighting situation. I was also very fortunate to have the human figure in silhouette to add human interest. The figure’s presence no doubt helped to enhance the visual impact of the shot. This is the kind of picture that requires you to be at the right spot at the right time — such a coincidental situation is unlikely to come by again.
