Making three trips to Shanghai for photography within a year is a record for me. Partially, I am attracted by the Expo 2010, This image was captured on the 31st Aug 2010 when I began my 2nd trip to Shanghai by joining the SWECP Expo Tour. Those didn’t join this group was really a miss because of the special arrangement we enjoyed (entering the China Pavilion without queuing) with the Expo 2010. Besides that, we also enjoyed capturing the Shanghai night scene. This is one of my favorite among my collections. I love the dramatic sky besides the colourful light. Otherwise, it will be just another ordinary night scene of Shanghai.
The distortions of camera lenses have been corrected by using Lightroom 3 Vertical Correction. Years ago, I have never dream of making such a correction by just few clicking of the mouse. It is really wonderful!

Netherlands Pavilion By Night

This is another colourful image that I have captured during my 3rd visit to Expo 2010. The Netherlands Pavilion, is known as “Happy Street”. The impact of ambient light on 2 of the 26 small houses along the street is out of my expectation. What is not really vivid in the day, could be very brilliant when the light is turned on.
Capturing the night scene of the Expo 2010, was obviously my main aim of being there.

Glittering Gold Pavilion

The outer covering of the United Arab Emirates Pavilion of the Expo 2010 is gold-colored stainless steel. When light is low that is also the right time of capturing an image with visual impact. Such an opportunity could be easy missed without observing the changing of light at the location.
As a photographer, you need to be alert almost on the dot. Another fact that could not be denied is always at the right place on time. Greater depth of field of the image is also achieved by using a smaller aperture setting.
