Nowadays, to capture an image of Fire Dance at Uluwatu,Bali, without the tourist is almost impossible. I decided to use the tourist as a backdrop instead. I was fortunate to synchronize the shutter speed with the flash light fired by the tourist. The lighting from the flash unit have created a back lit effect for this image. I like the difference in white balance of the various light source that provided me with the colour contrast. The result is a different approach of capturing another image of ” Fire Dance”.

I captured the image just outside one of the underground stations in Guangzhou, China in last November. At a vantage angle, I made full use of the light and shadow to enhance the image. But the story content of the picture is the most important message that I am trying to put across.

Recently, I had an opportunity of capturing some images of this traditional practice when I visited an area near Beijing Road, Guangzhou, China. I think is hard to run into such a sight and is interesting to observe such a procedure again after an absence of many years.
