Compressed Hay in a Farm

In July, while I was driving along the motorway to Kilmarnock from Glasgow, I came across this farming landscape scene. I decided to stop by to capture some images. The clouds were low and were set dramatically against the blue sky. I used a polariser to accentuate the effect further. As a city-dweller, I was fascinated with the visual impact the scene.

The Wave of North Sea

It was really freezing dumb cold! At least, for a person like me from a tropical country like Singapore. I had a good time spending a week here in Thymouth, UK though. I must thank my host (Mrs. Jane H Black,Hon. Exhibiton Chairman) of the Northern Counties Salon for putting me in a hotel right facing this beautiful seascape across the road. I preoccupied myself with taking pictures of the powerful and dramatic scene before judging the 1996 Northern Counties International Salon,UK. I love the lighting and contrast of the image. The vigorous waves provided the image with strong visual impact.

Scattered Light

Eng Loy and I was in Sentosa Island, Singapore on the 3rd January 2004 to attend a party hosted by his hospital department. While on the island, I came across a sudden change of the weather opposite the end facing Pulau Bukom. I wish that I had the time to change to a shorter lens to include more of the sky. In order not to miss the image however, I decided to use my shorter end of the 80-200 mm lens. Hence, the composition is much tied down. I love the dramatic impact of the whole image.
