All Is Calm

All Is Calm
Another lovely view of Buttermere on our recent early morning walk during our trip to the UK… The waters were calming down when we arrived and I mounted my camera on my tripod as I awaited the ripples on the lake surface to calm down. My patience was rewarded finally when the waters became calm enough to produce lovely reflections on the lake surface.

Grazing In Paradise
Another picture while looking through the archives (which I was reminded of while looking at my dad’s exhibition which closes today)… This was taken at Buttermere in the Lake District during my trip there last year. I think my appetite for scenery has been spoilt by my overseas trips to the UK, New Zealand and Australia. I don’t think I will be able to find scenes like this in Singapore that’s for sure 😛

Hindscarth Beyond Derwent Water

Hindscarth Beyond Derwent Water
This was taken at Derwent Water the evening before my previous post. Derwent Water was not as peaceful then as it was a pretty windy and chilly afternoon. I concentrated my efforts on the mountains beyond, particularly when the sun broke through the low hanging cloud cover and lit the sides of the hills in dramatic fashion. I didn’t know exactly the name of the hills and mountains I was taking then, but thanks to Google Earth, I figured out that the mountain that is mainly lit is Hindscarth, which lies between the valleys of Buttermere and Newlands, in the north-western part of the English Lake District. Ah… the wonders of modern technology … 🙂
