Reflections By The Bay

The last time I took night scene pictures at the Stadium Waterfront at Kallang was almost one and a half years ago when I visited the place for dinner. On my way there for dinner last night (hoping actually to capture a firework display in town which ended photographically disappointing anyway), I was amazed at how the very still waters of the Kallang River reflected beautiful, brilliant and colourful patterns. The waning daylight of dusk provided a nice, deep blue sky for the colourful scene.

About The Curves

New photographic works has been wanting of late because of the drab, gloomy weather that will herald the arrival of the rainy season in Singapore. How I wish the weather can be like that of Sydney, Australia, where it is claimed that over 300 days of the year are brightly sunlit…

I took this picture at a interesting fountain display next to Darling Harbour on my visit to Sydney in September 2003. The interesting patterns of the fountain alone, already made great subject material for photography. Imagine my delight when some children made the fountain their playground for the day! I love the strong contrast between the almost monochromatic colours of the fountain and the bright colours worn by the child, illuminated in brilliant lighting.

Reflecting On Old Times

I took this about a year ago while cooling down in the air-conditioned comfort of the atrium of the Esplanade after a photographic outing…

I was just about to pack up my camera in the bag when I chanced upon the candid moment of these two old ladies seemingly reminiscing on old times. The sunlight streaming through the skylight provided a dramatic natural spotlight that iluminated and highlighted the animated conversation between the two ladies.
