Moon Over The Campo dei Miracoli
When I came across the day-lit moon at the Campo dei Miracoli during our tour in Italy, I was reminded of some of the beautiful moonrise shots of James Jordan (who has incidentally started a useful and easy-to-read photography-tips blog at “Ready, Aim, Click“). The skies were remarkably blue that morning, creating a nice contrast to the yellow and brown of the ancient buildings. I switched to a long lens to get the buildings close and keep the moon a reasonable size in the frame.
beautiful lighting again.
Do you ahve a close up of that dome? The patterns on it look exquisite.
The colours looked remarkable. One of my favourites from your travel series. Pity the moon wasn’t as dramatic as those found by James Jordan. =) Nonetheless the colours contrast is fantastic.
The moon is an elusive photo subject and things have to line up just right to get a dramatic shot. I like the understated effect you’ve captured here. And the colors are remarkable. Thanks for the mention of my sites! ๐
Thanks everyone ๐
Ashwin: I do not have a close-up of the dome unfortunately. Such is the nature of organised tours — travel long distances by coach, only to drop for a short photo shoot before moving off yet again to another destination ๐
James: You are definitely most welcome! ๐
