Junior Fifty Three
We’re back from Japan! During our visit there, we encountered sunny, cloudy, gloomy, misty and rainy weather throughout the week, which meant that on certain days, I had a good haul of pictures, while the camera stayed very much in my bag on the other days. The first day of our visit was a sunny one. While waiting to enter Universal Studios, Osaka, Japan, I was attracted by the bright T-shirt of this man, who was carrying an equally interesting bag. Just as I was about to snap off his rearward profile with the interesting combination of colors, his son came into the picture, making a perfect candid moment for this decisive-moment shot 😀
Great shot!!!
Nice shot Eng Loy. As always, your Dad and you have stunning pictures.
I have always been wondering if people would object to us shooting and posting their pictures on websites or entering them in competitions. I have some shots I like but afraid to use them because of this concern.
Any experience/thought you can share?
Thanks
Hi Raymond! Thanks for dropping by 🙂
I think that such candid pictures are OK if they are taken in public places. Using them on blogs/websites with no commercial intention should be OK although I would think for such pictures to be used for commercial purposes, eg. on advertisements, then, a model release ought to be sought after.
You’d find that this will be the common consensus of many photographic magazines in the UK/US. AFAIK though, such photography is prohibited by law in France.
Thanks Eng Loy for the reply. It is certainly useful for me. I like street photography. There are more than a couple of times that the subject objected. And they were street performers. I certainly didn’t know about the law in France. They have funny regulations. I didn’t know they allowed photography in the Louvre until I got in without my camera.
On a different note. Like I have indicated to your Dad, that I find both of your photos very stunning. And that you are willing to share them with us is indeed a great thing. I really enjoy the footnotes on each photo, which often teach us a thing or two about photography….Great work and thank you.
