“Geronimo!”
This was taken the morning we arrived in Manchester, UK during my trip in April this year. When we touched down, the pilot announced that the temperature was minus 2 degrees Celsius. Thankfully, the glorious sunshine we had that morning warmed the place up quickly. We came across groups of people rappelling down from the Imperial War Museum over the river to The Lowry for charity. I like the contrasting lines of the Museum that provided a nice backdrop to the action we caught.
WOW! I missed this shot, and probably many others I’ve yet to find :), again I like this.
Perhaps (only) in IMHO the figure is a little too central vertically, a little higher or lower, given the orange hard hat, may have made for a stronger composition. Also, and no way a criticism, I cannot but help think of ‘The Falling Man’ shot by Richard Drew and its like from 9/11
Hi Jeff, many thanks for the comments and critique. I think I did have a difficult time with the composition — a little too high and I would have exceeded the top of the building, a little too low and I would have caught the bridge in the foreground. Guess I had to go for a compromise in the end, but great feedback nonetheless! 🙂
