Chasing The Red Lantern
The Lunar New Year arrives this Sunday…
It is customary for all Chinese families to sit down for Reunion Dinner on New Year’s Eve. I’ll be having mine one day earlier this time round as I will be at work this Saturday. I will definitely be at home on New Year’s Day (年åˆä¸€ï¼‰ to receive hongbaos (last year for me to receive them before I start giving them out in 2007 ;)). In the meantime, here’s a picture from the cheery decorations around Chinatown 🙂
Beautiful image. The composition and colors are great.
nice shot. I like it how my eyes are drawn from the corners to the point where the thread is tied. Is a shot from the other side possible, with a full view of the glowing snake?
And, Gong Xi Fa Cai. 🙂
Excellent colors and an intriguing composition!
Thanks Otto, ashwin and James 🙂
ashwin: Not sure whether if I could have gotten a full view of the snake due to the buildings around the area. In fact, I had to “contort” myself to a certain extent to take this one. It makes me feel like having the convenience of a flip-out-and-twist LCD on my old G3 again!
Lovely shot. Wonderfully intense & a nice composition.
i was there today to take a look at the “photos” you’ve taken from ur view pt. =) excellent. However i didn’t stay long enough to see the lights come on. The decors seemed rather…unorganised.
Anyway, you beautified the decor too much. =) gives me a feelign of mid-autumn festival at the chinese gardens. Great colours!
This picture has such wonderfully vivid colors set aganst a beautiful blue background. Outstanding composition!
Thank you everyone for the kind comments! 🙂
