Pedestrians Crossing

Pedestrians Crossing
The shortest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, will soon be arriving. I can’t wait for that to come — it’s increasingly getting more difficult to get up in the dark for work in the mornings. Neither is it fun going home from work in the darkness and cold 😛 As I wait for the days to lengthen (and hence allow more time for photography), I will be looking through some of the pictures that I took earlier this year in the UK. Here’s one that I took at the Salford Quays Millennium footbridge in Manchester earlier in September.

Morning Graze At Chatsworth Estate

Morning Graze At Chatsworth Estate
This was taken at the estate surrounding Chatsworth House in Derbyshire during our visit to the Peak District two weeks ago. The cold winter months have just arrived and although the sun was shining in this scene, the surroundings was an almost freezing 3-4 degrees Celsius. Still, we shouldn’t be complaining. It was snowing heavily the same time last year when we visited the UK. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this winter will not as bizzare as the last one!

You might have noticed some subtle changes on my photoblog of late. Images now fade in when they are loaded to mimic what you might expect with a slide show. I have also moved the geotag icon to the image info sidebar to prevent cluttering the main image. Finally, I have launched a Facebook companion page to this site with updates on new posts as well as regular tips on digital photography. Do take a look!
