Front Row Seat At Durdle Door

Front Row Seat At Durdle Door
Another view of Durdle Door on the Dorset coast, this time from a higher viewpoint. I like in particular, the two tiny figures at the bottom right which gave a good sense of scale to the whole scene.

Overlooking Hound Tor

Overlooking Hound Tor
A view of the Hound Tor in Dartmoor, Devon, UK… Supposedly heavily haunted and the inspiration for Conan Doyle’s book ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’, we drove through miles of cold and foggy (not to mention spooky!) moorland before we arrived at this place during our travels earlier this year. There were a few people hiking onto the tor. In our case, the cold got the better of us and we drove off shortly after getting this picture.

Deserted Beach Huts At Budleigh Salterton

Deserted Beach Huts At Budleigh Salterton
Taken on our journey to the Dorset Coast earlier this year… Beach huts are a common sight on many British beaches. Apparently Victorian in origin, they were apparently a means for royalty to preserve their modesty while they change at the beach on holiday. They certainly present a colourful sight on beaches, although these particular ones were rather dull and gloomy during our visit because of the strong winds and wet weather occurring then.
