Spoilt For Choice

Spoilt For Choice
From the same market in the previous post… For the majority of us who visit markets, we tend to make our visit only when the stalls have been set up and open for business. For photography, there are lots of candid activity that can be captured prior to opening time, which means travelling to the market just when the stallholders arrive to set up shop. This boy was waiting for her mother to help him open up his beverage (I think it was a packet of soya milk). Her mother was however, too busy laying out her lingerie goods for display. I thought his expression and the context of the lingerie stall made an interesting picture and story.

To Market, To Market…

To Market, To Market...
I hope you are enjoying the series of pictures I am posting up from my recent trip to Indonesia… So far, the pictures I have posted have been taken from the first day I arrived in Solo City. There are a lot more to come from the subsequent days! 🙂 This is from our second day in Solo City. We arrived in this traditional market just when the stalls were setting up shop on a Sunday morning. Obviously, the level of activity picked up as time went on. By the time the crowds came in, the sun was just at the right level to provide the warm light we needed to illuminate the colourful candid scenes we saw.
