Receding Storm At St Michael’s Mount

Receding Storm At St Michael's Mount
We saw some very dramatic weather on our trip to Cornwall, UK. I was not too hopeful when it started to rain while we were driving to Marazion Beach which is well-known for its view of Saint Michael’s Mount near Penzance. Braving the rain to take a picture of the gloomy scene, I was pleasantly surprised when the storm receded as fast as it came. Coincidentally, the shape of the receding storm cloud complemented the contours of the castle and chapel perfectly!

Good Morning, St Ives

Good Morning, St Ives
More pictures coming your way after a long absence from this photoblog for most of 2014 🙂 I passed through St Ives on my previous trip to Cornwall in 2011 but did not get to visit the beautiful seaside town. On my trip this time round, we stayed over and found a bit of time to explore the narrow alleyways within town itself. There were a lot of one-way lanes which made navigation tricky (there are also vehicular restrictions especially in summer). In the end, we were glad we made the effort to drive in for we were rewarded with a beautiful view of the town in the early morning sunshine.

Storm’s Coming To Lizard Point

Storm's Coming To Lizard Point
Photographers are drawn to Cornwall, UK for its wild coastal landscapes. I visited Lizard Point (the most southerly point on mainland Great Britain) during the summer four years ago but did not manage to get the pictures I was looking for as the weather was too mild! The wilder weather (we had to take refuge in the cafe there to avoid a shower of hailstones) we experienced this time round finally granted me a chance to capture some of the drama the area had to offer.
