A Sunny Ride Up

A Sunny Ride Up
It may look sunny in this picture, but the temperatures up at Mount Bromo are generally quite cool and can be downright freezing especially before the sun rises. One of my memorable experience during the visit there include having to trudge up the mountain in the cold darkness while avoiding horse dung that have been left behind 😛 These tourists on the other hand decided to take the easy way on horseback after sunrise. Their sacrifice: no glorious sunrise to enjoy. Our gain: interesting subjects to shoot! 😀

Gathering The Harvest

Gathering The Harvest
More rustic scenes from my visit to Bromo… Similar to my previous post, this was taken at one of the villages in the Ceromo Lawang area. As we were heading up one of the paths, I caught a glimpse of this villager moving through the crop fields gathering her harvest. I managed to squeeze off a couple of quick shots while she worked. This is my favourite of the few I took. Dad has an alternative version of this with a wider view which I like very much too.

On The Way Home

On The Way Home
More pictures from my Bromo trip… I caught a quick glimpse of some local Tenggerese heading home at the end of the day while we were out scouting for pictures in this picturesque village in Cemoro Lawang. The quality of the lighting and the unusual framing offered by the surrounding foilage attracted me to take this picture.
