The Glittering City

The Glittering City
Continuing from the previous post from Marina Bay Sands… I was very disappointed when the empty reclaimed land at Marina Bay (facing the Singapore financial district) gave way to construction cranes. That spot (accessible by car only after taking an off-road journey over a grass field) was excellent for taking night-scenery pictures of the area, such as this picture. Thankfully, the building that stands there now provides an equally if not more stunning view of the same area. Having better equipment now also helps, of course 🙂

Golden Paths From The Golden Sands

Golden Paths From The Golden Sands
We spent this long weekend holiday at the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort thanks to a special deal from CY’s aunt, whose company was able to offer us a very decent discount from the usual hotel rates 🙂 A visit to the Sands Sky Park there (for its fantastic view of the city) is a must! Although the weather was drizzly the afternoon we arrived, the rain helped to clean up the air, offering us a very clear night view of the breathtaking scenery. As per typical discrimination against hobbyist-photographers, camera tripods are not allowed (and I don’t see the reason why because there is plenty of space up there!). A few photographers smuggled their tripods and set them up in the dark, ignoring the signs. For myself, I made do with a Joby Gorillapod, which came in very helpful indeed. Do check back soon for more pictures 😀
