Looking Within

Looking Within
You might have seen a similar posting on my dad’s photoblog for this picture, which was taken at the Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh, UK… That’s hardly surprising as we took the pictures probably just seconds apart. I took the lazier way out though (with my point-and-shoot G10) as I had already kept my 40D in the bag. Hence the difference in aspect ratio (the G10 is 4:3 whereas my dad’s Nikon D700 is 3:2). I think my dad’s DSLR version probably has better detail and colour rendition if seen full-size although I must admit that the results I got from the G10 weren’t too shabby either! 🙂

Graffiti Spotlight

Graffiti Spotlight
It is rare to see graffiti in Singapore. Even if there’s any to be seen, none of it can be compared to those of many other countries, where graffiti can even be considered by some to be a specialized form of street art!

In the city of Melbourne in Australia, graffiti is often encouraged and even commissioned by businesses! We were walking on our way back to our hotel when I chanced upon this alley filled with graffiti art lit by a brilliant beam of sunlight. It was lucky that I had the handier G10 with me then: by the time I finished this shot and rummaged through my backpack to get to my 40D, the lighting had changed and made repeating this shot impossible.
