Face Off

Face Off
This was taken along one of the beaches of Western Australia as my dad and I headed north of Perth (towards the Pinnacles Desert) during our trip there in November 2003. The face-like shape of the rock was already interesting on its own right. Little did we realise that the “hair” was home to a nest of seagulls! I caught this shot of one of the gulls “facing-off” with the rock, a big print of which now hangs decorating the wall in my bedroom 🙂

Update 25 Sep 2007: This picture has been entered in the latest Photo Friday Challenge titled “The Beach”. Please vote for me if you like this shot 🙂

“But, I’m old enough to join you guys!”

'But, I'm old enough to join you guys!'
Anyone want to contribute for a guestblog entry? I have got at least two more lined up so far, but have not received their replies to my email-interviews.

Meanwhile, here’s a shot from New Year’s Day in 2004… I caught this at the Upper Seletar Reservoir off Mandai Road. This group of people from a local “Briskwalker”-club was gathering after their walk. I caught this decisive moment of a young boy looking up seemingly in protest. I imagine it might be because of his age (or rather the lack of) when it came to joining the group’s activities.

“More Coke, please?”

"More Coke, please?"
Another long exposure effort… This particular picture was taken together with the previous one outside the ba kwa store in Chinatown. I had a hard time thinking of a title for this one. Luckily, CY came to the rescue once again with a short, but succinct title 😉

One of the alternatives we came out with was “1:3”, which can mean either: 1) One handphone to three persons, 2) One Coca-Cola to three or, 3) One umbrella for three people :P. I decided to stick with “More Coke, please?” since that came across as simple and punchy :D. What do you think?
