ARPS #15 – Ice-cream Seller of Chinatown
The final image from my successful Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) panel which I submitted in September 2003… and the inspiration for my yearly visits to Chinatown during Chinese New Year ๐
This was taken during Chinese New Year in 2003 in Chinatown, Singapore. Photoshop filter effects? No, just the simple use of a tripod and setting the shutter to expose for 2 seconds. The ice-cream man and his customers remained relatively sharp compared to the busy crowd around them which was blurred out because of the long shutter speed. This help to convey the idea of an oasis of calm in a sea of chaos.
