After Sunset At Busselton Jetty

After Sunset At Busselton Jetty
Busselton Jetty has always been an attraction for me whenever I travel to Western Australia since my first visit in 2003, more than 20 years ago! There is something about the jetty that draws me photography-wise and I am grateful that I brought my tripod along on my most recent trip just a week ago. I love the colours and mood, with the composition enhanced by an unexpected outline of a pool of water in the foreground, likely left behind by an earlier period of high-tide.

Twilight At Busselton

Twilight At Busselton
My photographic love affair with Busselton and its famous jetty started 13 years ago when I visited it after attending a conference in Perth, Western Australia. Bringing our toddler along this time around on a vacation trip in April, I was struck by how clear the skies were. We made it a point to return at dusk when I knew that sunset and twilight would be strikingly beautiful. Little did I expect the half-setting crescent moon to come along just at the right time for me to capture the above shot 🙂

A Stroll On Jack’s Bay

A Stroll On Jack's BayOne of my favourite shots from my trip to Western Australia in 2003 was a picture of a mother and child strolling by Busselton jetty. Little did I realize how similar in subject matter this particular shot at Jack’s Bay (along the Caitlin Coast of New Zealand) was until I started to post this blog entry. We were actually heading towards Jack’s Blowhole but took a wrong turn. Fortunately, the wrong turn led to a high vantage point which came in perfect for this picture! 🙂
